PRESS RELEASE: MISS COSMO 2024 ORGANIZED A CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT IN LONG AN, RAISED NEARLY 2.5 BILLION VND FOR COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

Having explored various cities of Vietnam, the Miss Cosmo 2024 contestants made their next stop in Long An. While there, they participated in a wide range of activities, including a charity golf tournament and auction. This event successfully raised nearly 2.5 billion VND, which will be allocated to fund the organization’s ongoing community initiatives.

After a memorable stay in Da Lat, the Miss Cosmo 2024 contestants embarked on their next journey to Long An, a province celebrated for its rich cultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes. Known for its profound historical significance and tranquil beauty, Long An is the first destination in the southern leg of the pageant.

In Long An, the Miss Cosmo 2024 contestants, along with provincial officials and representatives of Hoan Cau Long An Company and Miss Cosmo organization, paid their respects at the memorial of Lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho and the Victory Monument. This solemn ceremony was a tribute to those who dedicated their lives to safeguarding Vietnam’s peace.

Additionally, the Miss Cosmo 2024 contestants were warmly welcomed and had the opportunity to meet with the provincial leaders of Long An, including: Mr. Hoang Dinh Can – Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Head of the Provincial Propaganda Department, Mr. Pham Tan Hoa – Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Thanh – Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ms. Dang Thi Thanh Huyen – Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Huynh Cao Chanh – Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications.

At the People’s Committee, the contestants shared their experiences and heartfelt sentiments about their participation in Miss Cosmo 2024. In a touching gesture, the contestants were presented with traditional Vietnamese scarves, symbolizing the cultural identity and heritage of the Mekong Delta region.

Visiting the ecosystem of Hoang Gia Viet Nam Investment Corporation

As part of their journey in Long An, the Miss Cosmo 2024 contestants were invited to tour Vietnam Solar, a solar power plant, and Hoan Vu Yen bird’s nest production facility, both subsidiaries of Hoang Gia Viet Nam Investment Corporation. These visits allowed the contestants to witness the impressive industrial and economic development of the region.

Charitable activities for poor but studious students

The Miss Cosmo 2024 pageant has been actively involved in various charitable initiatives. In Long An, the contestants participated in a scholarship program for disadvantaged students in Binh Hoa Nam and Binh Hoa Hung communes, Duc Hue district. This event highlighted the pageant’s commitment to giving back to the community and inspiring students to strive for excellence.

At this charitable event, welcoming the Miss Cosmo 2024 contestants and the organizing committee were distinguished guests and leaders, including: Mr. Tran Thanh Phong – Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Duc Hue District; Mr. Le Van Nen – Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Duc Hue District; Mr. Vo Van A – President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Duc Hue District; as well as representatives from various agencies and organizations of Duc Hue District, and the People’s Committees of Binh Hoa Nam and Binh Hoa Hung communes. Together with the organizing committee, representatives of the SEMI brand, Dr. Bich Na – Health Director of Miss Cosmo 2024, and representatives of Hoan Cau Long An Company, the Miss Cosmo contestants personally handed out 100 gifts to the students, each gift consisting of cash and a carton of SEMI soy milk, to support and encourage them in their studies.   

The Cosmo Charity Golf Tournament 2024 and Charity Gala

The Miss Cosmo 2024 pageant included a prestigious golf tournament, the Cosmo Charity Golf Tournament 2024, held at the Royal Long An Golf & Villas. Alongside the tournament was a charity auction gala, with all proceeds going towards Miss Cosmo’s charitable initiatives. In this year’s event, the funds will be used to support disaster relief efforts in northern Vietnam. The event also attended by two Miss Cosmo runners-up, Thao Nhi Le and Hoang Nhung.

The gala was a heartwarming event that highlighted the organization’s charitable work. Attendees were moved by the inspiring clips and images showcased throughout the evening. Demonstrating their support, participating businesses contributed additional funds: 100 million VND from Nam A Bank, 100 million VND from Bao Minh, 50 million VND from DOIDEP, 50 million VND from Ngu Thuong, and 50 million VND from Van Lang.

The auction items were equally impressive. The painting “Abundant Harvest” depicting a rice paddy and farmers in autumn, with signatures from all Miss Cosmo 2024 contestants, fetched 300 million VND. Following this, a Yixing teapot crafted by a Bat Trang ceramic artist was sold for 180 million VND. A unique golf set autographed by golf legend Sir Nick Faldo was successfully auctioned for 125 million VND.

The charity event concluded with a remarkable achievement: a total of 2 billion 375 million VND was raised through donations from generous individuals and businesses. This success reflects the strong spirit of solidarity and compassion that drives Miss Cosmo’s charitable endeavors.

Following their journey in Long An, the Miss Cosmo 2024 contestants will conclude their trip in Ho Chi Minh City. Here, they will immerse themselves in the city’s vibrant culture, cuisine, and music at the Best of the World festival hosted by Gamuda Land. This international festival, celebrating the world’s diverse cultures, offers a unique platform to experience captivating performances, music, cuisine, and traditions from all continents. Alongside attending this grand event, the contestants will be busy rehearsing and preparing for the two crucial semi-final and final grand.
