“BEST OF VIETNAM EXHIBITION – AO DAI SHOW” OF MISS COSMO 2024: SHOWCASING GLOBAL HERITAGE THROUGH VIETNAM’S AO DAI

On September 22, 2024, at the 1927 Tea Factory in Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province, the “Best Of Vietnam Exhibition – Ao Dai Show” was held. Co-organized by Miss Cosmo Organization and The Beauty Of Vietnam under UNESCO-CEP, the event provided a Vietnamese cultural experience through festival-like activities. The highlight was a fashion show featuring Miss Cosmo 2024 contestants in designer Trung Dinh’s ao dai collection, along with a recreated collection of traditional Vietnamese attire from the Ỷ Vân Hiên brand.

Miss Cosmo 2024 is off to a flying start! The first half of the competition in Hanoi and Ninh Binh was a huge success,with unforgettable moments like the National Costume Competition and “Hello Cosmo From Vietnam” Fashion Show.The pageant’s commitment to each contestant has won over fans everywhere.

The Miss Cosmo 2024 contestants are continuing their “Vivid Vietnam” journey in Da Lat, Lam Dong. A major event, the “Best of Vietnam Exhibition – Ao Dai Show,” was held at the historic 1927 Tea Factory on September 22nd. The event was attended by local dignitaries, partners, sponsors, and celebrated beauty queens. The event was hosted by Huynh Pham Thuy Tien, the 2nd runner-up of Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2022.

Driven by national pride and a passion to promote Vietnam’s cultural heritage, Miss Cosmo Organization and The Beauty Of Viet Nam, under UNESCO-CEP, have created the “Best Of Vietnam Exhibition – Ao Dai Show” to showcase the country’s finest cultural values. This cultural event provides a unique festive experience, featuring an ao dai exhibition, traditional Gong music performances of the Central Highland, and cultural sites dedicated to tea and silk. In addition, there are also accompanying booths of the Doi Dep Tea brand, Semi collagen soy milk, Miss Vietspice spices, etc., contributing to enhancing the experience for contestants and guests attending the event.

In addition to the ao dai exhibition, visitors can participate in a silk dyeing workshop led by designer Trung Dinh. In the tea-tasting area, guests will learn about tea brewing and delve into Vietnamese tea culture while enjoying the view of the Ngũ Thức Đài surrounded by Lam Dong silk and Da Lat flowers. Additionally, the event recreates the Tây Nguyên gong culture, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, featuring traditional musical instruments such as the T’rưng, Ding Pah, and various gongs and drums.

At 5:30 PM, the “Best of Vietnam Exhibition – Ao Dai Show” officially commenced with a live performance of traditional Hue court music, blending folk rhythms with modern elements. The performance, featuring Saigon Oi! Folk Band and the Ngoc Trai Viet Modern Folk Art Troupe, included traditional dances once reserved for royalty.

The opening performance told the historical and cultural story of Vietnam through traditional ao dai. The Ỷ Vân Hiên brand presented the “The future was written by the past” collection, featuring meticulously researched designs inspired by Nguyen Dynasty royal and noble attire. The collection showcases the simple yet heroic beauty of Vietnamese people while seamlessly blending traditional and modern materials. Ỷ Vân Hiên aims to bring traditional values into contemporary life, honoring Vietnam’s cultural heritage and elevating its status on the international stage.

The Miss Cosmo 2024 contestants made a stunning appearance in vibrant traditional costumes and graced the runway in wooden clogs, exuding elegance and confidence with their graceful steps. Their hairstyles, adorned with exquisite hairpins, complemented their traditional and refined looks. Joining them on the runway were model kids from Cosmo The Show, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the event.

At the “Best Of Vietnam Exhibition – Ao Dai Show”, Designer Trung Dinh brought to the Miss Cosmo 2024 contestants the collection “The Colours of Humanity” with a series of silk ao dai designs, hand-crafted and dyed with ombre technique. Each Miss Cosmo 2024 contestant wears an ao dai that is a unique and sophisticated handmade painting, inspired by the natural wonders, architectural masterpieces, and art from their own countries. Trung Dinh is not only a designer and a painter on silk and ao dai but also a guardian of traditional heritage, enriching Vietnamese silk áo dài and honoring the cultural symbols of nearly 60 countries represented at Miss Cosmo 2024.

The “Best of Vietnam Exhibition – Ao Dai Show” at Miss Cosmo 2024 concluded with a vibrant and inclusive performance that ignited a sense of pride and love for the country. The image of international beauties gracefully wearing traditional Vietnamese ao dai left a lasting impression on the international audience. The event provided an opportunity for contestants from 60 countries to experience and appreciate Vietnamese culture, creating unforgettable memories in their journey in Miss Cosmo 2024.
