Marking the Lunar New Year of Bính Ngọ 2026, the queens of the “Cosmo Family” unveil a Tet editorial that honors Vietnamese cultural heritage through a contemporary lens. Inspired by the depiction of women in traditional folk art such as Đông Hồ and Hàng Trống paintings, the project pays tribute to Vietnam’s artistic legacy while extending wishes of prosperity and success for the year ahead.

The year 2025 concluded with significant milestones for the Cosmo Family, the beauty ecosystem founded and organized by UniMedia. Two major seasons introduced the Top 2 of Miss Cosmo 2025 – Yolina Lindquist (USA) and Chelsea Fernandez (Philippines) – alongside the Top 2 of Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2025, Nguyễn Hoàng Phương Linh and Đỗ Cẩm Ly. Together, they represent a new generation of beauty defined by independence, global perspective and a strong commitment to community impact.

Building on the success of its inaugural season in Vietnam, Miss Cosmo continues to promote the message “Impactful Beauty,” highlighting social and cultural initiatives that shape the image of the modern woman – proactive, socially responsible and sustainability-driven.

The Bính Ngọ 2026 Tet editorial serves as a cultural bridge between contemporary journeys and traditional values. For international titleholders Yolina Lindquist and Chelsea Fernandez, the project marks their first participation in a Tet campaign deeply rooted in Vietnamese identity. Both appear in designs inspired by the regal aesthetics of Huế’s imperial court, evoking the elegance of women in the former royal capital.

The editorial also brings together multiple generations of titleholders, including Mook Karnruethai Tassabut (Runner-up Miss Cosmo 2024), reigning Miss Cosmo Vietnam Nguyễn Hoàng Phương Linh, Runner-up Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2025 Đỗ Cẩm Ly, Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2023 Bùi Xuân Hạnh and Runner-up Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2023 Hoàng Nhung.

Two young models from Cosmo Academy – Trần Thị Ngọc Mai (Cosmo Kid’s Star 2025 Winner) and Lê Ngọc Như Ý (1st Runner-up) – also appear, symbolizing the next generation nurtured within the Cosmo ecosystem and its long-term vision for talent development.

While the 2025 Tet campaign paid homage to cải lương, a traditional Vietnamese performing art, this year’s concept explores the evolution of Vietnamese visual arts across eras. The editorial creates a dialogue between painting, traditional costume and contemporary fashion expression.

Drawing inspiration from the symbolic simplicity of Đông Hồ folk paintings, the poetic portrayal of women in the works of Mai Trung Thứ, and the contemporary visual language of Kris Nguyễn, the project transforms painterly aesthetics into fashion and performance. Art steps beyond the frame, embodied in silhouette, styling and presence.

The narrative unfolds across Vietnam’s three cultural regions. In the North, Xuân Hạnh and Hoàng Nhung reinterpret the grace of traditional women in four-panel dresses, quai thao hats and crow-beak scarves – evoking the quiet depth of folk paintings.

In the Central region, Yolina Lindquist, Chelsea Fernandez and Mook Karnruethai Tassabut embody imperial refinement through court-inspired ensembles, reflecting the splendor and craftsmanship of Huế’s royal heritage.

In the South, Nguyễn Hoàng Phương Linh and Đỗ Cẩm Ly channel the warmth and vibrancy of southern women, styled with bánh lái hair buns and handcrafted jewelry, capturing a spirit that is open, resilient and radiant.

A standout tableau reimagines the classic “Tố Nữ” composition – four young women engaged in traditional artistic pursuits – through contemporary fashion language. The image suggests figures stepping out of the canvas into modern reality, presenting Vietnamese femininity as both culturally rooted and dynamically evolving.

The final group portrait unites all titleholders in a harmonious composition, transcending geography and background. The traditional áo dài becomes a cultural thread linking past and present, Vietnam and the world.

Through this editorial, the Miss Cosmo organization not only presents a meticulously crafted fashion project but also reaffirms its commitment to preserving and celebrating cultural heritage. It invites audiences to revisit tradition with respect while confidently positioning Vietnamese beauty within the global landscape.
