OFFICIAL: FORMER DEPUTY MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF VIETNAM – PHAM QUANG VINH IS THE SECOND JUDGE OF MISS COSMO 2024

On September 7th, the Miss Cosmo organization officially revealed that Mr. Pham Quang Vinh, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and former Vietnamese Ambassador to the United States, will be joining the judging panel for Miss Cosmo 2024. Notably, Mr. Vinh became the first Vietnamese judge for this international beauty pageant, founded and organized by Vietnamese people, held for the first time in Vietnam.

In recent days, beauty fans from all over the world are focusing their attention on Miss Cosmo 2024 when in just a few days, the pageant will officially enter the journey to find the best representative for the new era. Contestants from various countries are already gearing up and preparing to jet off to Vietnam to compete for the Miss Cosmo crown.

On the evening of September 7th, the Miss Cosmo organization made the official announcement of Mr. Pham Quang Vinh, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and former Vietnamese Ambassador to the United States, as the pageant’s newest judge. The identity of the first Vietnamese judge has once again captured the attention of the media and ignited widespread discussion among the public.

Mr. Pham Quang Vinh has nearly 40 years of experience in the diplomatic field, having held numerous senior positions and serving as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam from 2011 until his retirement in December 2018. During this time, he was involved in a wide range of work, including the United Nations, ASEAN and the Region, as well as Vietnam-US relations. He was conferred the rank of Ambassador, the highest diplomatic rank of the Vietnamese state.

In particular, Mr. Pham Quang Vinh served as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the United States from November 2014 to June 2018. During his tenure, he made significant contributions to promoting bilateral relations between Vietnam and the United States, including the visits of President Obama and President Trump to Vietnam in May 2016 and November 2017.

His dedication to diplomacy, efforts to foster international relations and regional connectivity have earned him widespread recognition both domestically and internationally. He is also known for his active diplomacy within ASEAN and for elevating Vietnam’s position in the region. He is also well-regarded by the press for his insightful comments on international and foreign affairs.

With his extensive career in diplomacy and international relations, Mr. Pham Quang Vinh will bring a global perspective and in-depth knowledge to the judging panel, contributing to the selection of an outstanding woman who can positively impact the community through her beauty, intellect, and resilience. This will, in turn, foster development, address global challenges, promote cultural exchange, enhance global connectivity, and celebrate international diversity.

The participation of Ms. Paula Shugart, former president of Miss Universe, and Mr. Pham Quang Vinh, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, on the judging panel has significantly elevated the quality and reputation of Miss Cosmo 2024.
