Following the announcement of Ms. Paula Shugart, former President of Miss Universe, and Mr. Pham Quang Vinh, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and former Ambassador of Vietnam to the United States, as judges for Miss Cosmo 2024, it has now been officially revealed that George Chien, Co-Founder, CEO and President of KC Global Media, will also join as the next esteemed judge at Miss Cosmo 2024.

Miss Cosmo 2024 has entered the first stage of the competition. On social media, updates about the contestants’ activities, such as sash presentations, charitable work, and participation in rehearsals for the National Costume segment and the “Hello Cosmo from Vietnam” fashion show, have garnered significant attention from audiences both domestically and internationally. With its meticulous and professional approach, Miss Cosmo is steadily establishing its prominence and resonance with the public.

Moreover, the judging panel for Miss Cosmo 2024 features prestigious names with influence not only in the fields of pageantry and modeling but also in diplomacy and commercial entertainment. Previously, the competition made headlines with the announcement of Ms. Paula Shugart, former President of Miss Universe, Mr. Pham Quang Vinh, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and former Ambassador of Vietnam to the United States, as judges. Recently, George Chien, Co-Founder, CEO and President of KC Global Media, has also been officially announced as the next esteemed judge for Miss Cosmo 2024.

Born in Taiwan and based in Los Angeles, California, Chien has been instrumental in driving the company’s success, drawing on his decades of extensive experience in media and entertainment. Under his leadership, KC Global Media’s footprint grew rapidly, establishing the company as the home of some of the most popular media brands including AXN, ONE, Animax, GEM and KCM; critically acclaimed and award-winning shows like The Amazing Race Asia, Asia’s Got Talent and Apprentice Asia.

Prior to launching KC Global Media, Chien was the Executive Vice President of Sony Pictures Media Networks where he led Sony’s global and Asia-Pacific networks business, spearheaded the acquisition of TEN Sports in India and anime company FUNIMATION and was the key architect in developing, launching and broadcasting the highly successful cricket league, Indian Premier League (IPL) in India.

Chien has held over 25 different board positions and directorships and served as alternate Board of Directors and active member for the International Academy of Television, Arts & Sciences as well as final juror for Asian Academy Creative Awards.

In addition to Chien’s deep industry knowledge and proven track record, his credential as a licensed Certified Public Accountant brings a high level of professionalism and ethical standards to the judging panel, ensuring that the competition is handled with the utmost integrity.
